The first
occasion marked the 15th Anniversary celebration
of ELSA (The European Law Students Association)
which is the Brussels based law related NGO with
30.000 members at 200 Universities in 35
European countries.
Under the title
''Europe for a Just world'' the Bled Forum
participants strengthened their commitment to
advocate ''human rights and the rule of law'' in
the future development of Europe, their
institutions and policy making processes.

Strengths &
potentials
Bled Forum on Europe provides a platform for
fruitful debates and exchange of views on the
field of European and foresight studies. It
links eminent international academics and
experts from the field (e.g. AC UNU Millenium
Project, UNESCO, European Commission / IPTS). An
important body of the Bled Forum on Europe,
which assures the high level of expertise and
international recognition is Bled Forum
Futures Committee with 12 members (see
organisation chart). Members of the Bled Forum
Futures Committee are highly profiled academics
and practitioners from the field of activities
of Bled forum on Europe. Their role is to advise
the executive committee on substantial and
organisational aspects.
Bled Forum on
Europe wants to be heard and wants to provide
global, EU, national and cross-border regional
decision makers with innovative suggestions.
With that aim it launches
declarations (addressed to policy makers and
general public) and conclusions of events, which
reflects debates, and orientation of the forum.
Bled Forum on Europe as a regional event is
located in the crossroad of different cultural,
religion and political entities and therefore it
wants to be a focal point and neutral place of
conciliation and exchange of different
“futures”, overcoming the principle of
zero-sum-game and power play of real politics.
