Preparation for X. Bled Forum on Europe
On Monday 21st of April 2008 members of the Bled Forum Futures Committee Mr. Blaz GOLOB, Mr. Miroslav POLZER and Mr. Totti KONOLA met with director Mr. Peter KIND and his team at the European Commission IPTS centre.
They discussed about the current successful co-operation, South East Europe initiatives and preparation for the X. Bled Forum on Europe which will take place in March 2009. As an introduction to the meeting the Slovenian Ambassador to Spain Mr. Peter REBERC introduced the EU Presidency priorities.

Adopted declareation and conclusions
Participants of the IX. Bled forum on Europe have adopted IX. Bled Forum declaration on Climate change and conclusions of the conference. Draft documents were presented at the end of the event and participants had an opportunity to send their comments via e-mail. The final documents therefore based on width consensus of participants and will be sending to relevant policy makers of different levels.

EU-ACP Assembly in Ljubljana: Bled Forum on Europe and "UN Parliamentary Assembly" Initiative
During the EU-ACP Assembly in Ljubljana on 17th of March 2008 a fringe meeting was organised by member of European Parliament Jo Leinen on the question of a "UN Parliamentary Assembly". The aim of the meeting was to inform the participants about the activities for setting up a Parliamentary Assembly at the United Nations. To achieve this, an international campaign was launched last year to raise the awareness for this issue among members of parliaments worldwide and to enlarge the support for it. President of Bled Forum on Europe, Blaž Golob, took part in the meeting presenting possibilities for Bled Forum to support and join the initiative.

Bled Forum Futures Committee Meeting
After the closing of the IX. Bled Forum on Europe Conference on 8th of March 2008 at 17.00 members of Bled Forum Futures Committee gathered at Hotel Golf Bled to evaluate the conference, to define dissemination activities and to discuss the preparation of X. Bled Forum on Europe Foresight Conference in 2009.
Vivid discussion of members of the committee regarding the evaluation of the conference was concluded with the expression of satisfactory realization of the event, pointing out the fact that the conference managed to present the problem and to offer a solution for it. Members have suggested new approaches for balancing the representation of different stakeholders and reinforcing the participation of Slovenian government representatives. Members also stressed the importance of having a strong communication strategy regarding the dissemination of conference's conclusions and declaration. The theme of X. Bled Forum on Europe Foresight Conference in 2009 - Future of Culture was discused leading to identification of specific areas and its dimensions that should be covered. At the meeting policies and strategies of the EU related to 'Culture' were presented as a starting point of the agenda setting process for 2009 Bled Forum on Europe.

Bled Forum on Europe Node as a partner of UN Global Compact Slovenia
IEDC-Bled School of Management has founded UN Global Compact Slovenia, Slovenian chapter of UN Global Compact, world's largest world’s largest corporate global citizenship network in 2007. In 2008 Bled Forum on Europe joined the initiative as a partner. On 6th of March 2008 UN Global Compact Slovenia organized a networking event with Bled Forum on Europe. Blaž Golob, the president of Bled Forum on Europe presented Bled Forum's projects and activities, its mission, vision and objectives and the role of reinforcing foresight metodology and futures studies. Latter are prceived as a cornerstone of fostering mutual effects produced by scientists and futurists, decision makers and business sector representatives. Jerome C. Glenn, the director of WFUNA Millenium Project presented the results of annual State of the Future Report which focuses on 15 global chalenges.
Nadya Zhexembayeva, professor of sustainable development at IEDC-Bled School of Management was a chair of fourth session of IX. Bled Forum on Europe conference on climate change and UN Global compact initiative. The aim of the session was to present four cases of slovenian companies as good practices of integrating scientific findings into business sector.

Announcement of the IX. Bled Forum on Europe
In co-operation with partners WFUNA Millennium Project, European Commission, Slovenian Research Agency, Austrian Science Liaison Office in Ljubljana, UMANOTERA (The Slovenian Foundation for Sustainable Development) and relevant Ministries of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia the IX. Bled Forum on Europe will be organised with the following topic ''Foresight & Policy Making in relation to Climate Change''.

From 20. to 22. March 2007 three members of Bled forum futures committee visited the Institute for Perspective Technological Studies (IPTS) in Sevilla, Spain, where they discussed about the future cooperation, especially about the organisation of the IX. Bled forum on Europe annual conference and potentials for scientific co-operation on other fields.
4th March 2007 - Bled, SLovenija
The annual conference VIII. Bled Forum on Europe was organised in term 2.-3. March. The topic of the conference was "Governing futures". Eminent speakers from all over the world presented their experiences and views in the field of foresight. There was also vivid debate and active participation from the audience. The conference was followed by the meeting of experts where broad topics and ideas for next Bled forum on Europe were discused.
14th December 2006 - Copenhagen, Denmark
From 12.-13.December was in Copenhagen, Denmark organised the meeting of NORFACE Network Board. The work on the NORFACE workshop was presented to them. They were also informed about the VIII. Bled forum annual meeting. They were adopted the idea of the workshop and agreed with draft agenda of the NORFACE Bled meeting.
30th November 2006 - Montreal, Canada
From 29 October to 2. November in Montreal, Canada, the NORFACE Management Team Meeting was organised. The idea of organising NORFACE workshop on Comparative aspects of partner councils was presented to Management team members. They approved the idea and the draft programme and guidelines of the workshop.
